The estimation of quarterly external trade in services data with monthly figures for February 2026 has been published
According to the estimated monthly data on external trade in services, in February 2026 imports fell by 2.7% (HUF 14.4 billion), while exports rose by 12.1% (HUF 61.3 billion) compared with the base period, as reported in the newly released publication of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) titled Estimation of the external trade in services quarterly data with monthly data.
The decline in imports was driven primarily by medium‑sized enterprises employing between 50 and 249 persons, where the decrease reached 24% (HUF 25.5 billion). At the sectoral level, the manufacturing industry and the electricity sector contributed most to the reduction in import values.
On the export side, growth was supported by the performance of large enterprises with more than 250 employees, which recorded a 21% increase (HUF 68 billion). Among the sectors, manufacturing and transportation were the main contributors to the expansion in export turnover.
