Tasks of the Multi-domain Statistics Department

Multi-domain Statistics Department

 

1. Areas of expertise of the Multi-domain Statistics Department are:
1.1. Environmental statistics (air pollution, sewage, waste, environmental expenditure and industry, environmental taxes),
1.2. statistics on public utilities,
1.3. energy statistics,
1.4. spatial statistics, regional statistics and regional development statistics,
1.5. rural development statistics,
1.6. information, communication and digitalisation statistics.
 
2. Tasks of the Multi-domain Statistics Department according to the statistical data production process:
2.1. providing individual data processing services to the departments of the HCSO;
2.2. the planning, technical preparation, quality control of the environmental statistical data surveys of the HCSO and organising the data into a database organisation, as well as planning, technical preparation, processing, quality control, correction of the data received from the data surveys of other bodies of the Official Statistical Service, administrative and other secondary data sources and organising them into a database;
2.3. compiling the environmental accounts system and documenting and developing its methodology;
2.4. planning of the reception, preparing, processing, quality control, correction of data from statistical data sources, data surveys of other bodies of the Official Statistical Service, administrative and other secondary data sources and compiling them into a database for the development of regional and regional development statistics, indicators of rural development and sustainable development;
2.5. coordinating national and international tasks related to spatial statistics within the HCSO, methodological development of spatial typologies, spatial delimitations, maintenance of the spatial nomenclature;
2.6. cooperating with public bodies involved in regional development in the preparation of regional development concepts, development strategies and operational programmes;
2.7. the planning, preparing, organising, processing, quality control of statistical data surveys for the registration of administrative changes and organising the data into a database;
2.8. maintaining the Gazetteer of Hungary, editing the Detailed Gazetteer of Hungary;
2.9. professional supervision of the updating of the Statistical Address Register, management of the Country Register;
2.10.  contributing to the coordination of cooperation between the departments of the Statistics Directorate;
2.11.  contributing to coordinating the cooperation between the departments of the Statistics Directorate and other departments;
2.12.  contributing to the coordination of the planning processes of the Statistics Directorate;
2.13.  managing cross-cutting indicator systems;
2.14.  contributing to the development of HCSO publications relating to multiple statistical areas;
2.15.  contributing to the analysis and dissemination activities of the Statistics Directorate;
2.16.  validation of the data collected and received at sectoral level;
2.17.  documenting and developing the methodology of the specialised areas falling within the remit of the department;
2.18.  producing data compilations, analyses and first releases on the subject of the specialised areas within the remit of the department;
2.19.  national and international dissemination and data transmission as well as ensuring access to data;
2.20.  technical supervision of the Single Data-processing System;
2.21.  updating the content of the registers belonging to the department, planning the data surveys necessary for the maintenance of the registers;
2.22.  the planning, technical preparation, quality control of the data surveys of the HCSO for information, communication and digitalisation statistics and organising the data into a database, as well as the reception, processing, quality control of data from the data surveys of other bodies of the Official Statistical Service, administrative and other secondary data sources and organising them into a database.
